Bon Fire

A crisp cool evening perfect for a bonfireKyle roasts his marshmallowsand tries not to get too roasty himself
while daddy keeps us safe mmmm s'moreslittle sister enjoys her treat

and rescues a wiggly worm from the ashes
it's now safe and sound in our garden
campfire songs
mine got a little toasty
I adore the smell of an evening bonfire under the moon
the warmth of the flames
and my snuggly babes
who get stars in their eyes at the thought
of gathering around a fire to eat a melted marshmallow

Our Thanksgiving

Breakfast at my grandparents
My grandparents and my mama
I've got my sisters with me!
the fun and family didn't end there..
We returned home and were greeted by my in-laws, who already had a fire going and my counter filled with yummy dishes
The proud face of a grandmother,
I couldn't ask for a better mother-in-law

Kobe enjoys his turkey by the fire
then it was time to kick up his feet and relax Meg cuddles with her daddy

Maya and Mama find a cuddly spot too
(photo by Kobe)I hope you had a cozy Thanksgiving

A Big Day for Maya

Honey Oatmeal Cookies
to be shared with Maya's theatre class tonight,
they've prepared a skit for the parents!
And Maya told the teacher she'd be making cookies from "scrap"

butter, sugar, brown sugar
eggs, flour, vanilla, raisins

and her favorite ingredient..honey combined with oats

make for a yummy cookie! She was distracted by the window
but kept on rolling that doughsquooshy messy fun

this kids got skills
and imagination
Arrrrgh
it's a cookie pirate
She placed them in even rows
and counted them
before I put them in the oven

..then exhaustion hit
with a touch of dramatics and with her apron still on
she takes a much needed nap for the big night ahead of her.

My little actress rested, dressed
and only a little smudge of dinner left on her mouth :o)

...smiles

and hugs from friends

They performed an excerpt from
"Gooney Bird Greene and her true life adventures" By Lois Lowry
Maya played the role of "Chelsea"

She remembered all of her lines and not a cookie was left!

A great ending to a big day

Little Ballerina

MayaShe longs to dance in pointe :D After her recital..we watched big sister's class again this is she and her big sister

and this is how Kobe feels about ballet recitals

Kyle can take it no longer.. he places nickels he brought to buy a snack over his eyes

and somehow..this makes it better
My patient sons and
my little dancers
I love you XO

Ballerina Meg

little sister watches and learns from the big girls..
her recital will be tomorrow

recitals are more like open class parent observation
a chance to see our child's improvement

these next shots I took a few months ago,
she's worked hard since she was 5 to get to this level

It's a joy to watch her dance!
