Peacocks
What could have exhausted my little babes this much?!
While on a nature walk, we were pleasantly surprised to sight a couple of peacocks!

Creek Kids
I've been away from the internet, including my inbox for a while, also a double kidney infection and 2 kidney stones (one 5mm!) gave me a night in the ER and a week in the hospital. An interesting experience for everyone to take care of this mama for a change. I'm feeling much better, thank-you for all of your e-mails, they mean so much to me.
I'll be attempting to catch up on my online community as well as on some posts I would like to share with you.
This is from a wonderful day of exploring at our favorite creek this summer.
Maya found a freshwater clam.

Kyle found a swirly leaf, to which I said matched his belly button
He also found a vibrant red leaf for me while exploring the creek bed, he said "here mama", didn't have time to even turn around, this was my view :o)

I'm not sure if I've mentioned before, but Maya has a very strong sense of smell. From since I can remember, she's always had a need to sniff out our treasures. Which is also handy for her when I'm sneaking gum from my purse, it never stays a secret long!

Summer Fun~Camping!
Hello sweet Blog, how I've missed you and my blogging friends! Shall I catch you up to date...

The brook that ran beside the pear tree

we explored deeper into the brook and found that it held the most amazing dragonfly
Green Eyed Hook Tail
Dancing for me

and we ran into a beautiful wolf spider the size of my palm! The next day, after a big rain..this rock was almost entirely submerged, with her still clinging the side.

We peeked into a tunnel and found a funnel web
Kyle found an emerald green cicada
and further on our hike, he found a cicada exoskeleton.
A Blue Tailed Skink sparked some nature journaling

(Kyle's "boo boo" face, begging me to let him dive into the lake
for the turtle he just saw swim by!)
We've been enjoying this wonderful weather we've had all summer..70's to low 90's...winds and misty rains..sigh..lots of exploring and laughter. Camping was our most recent adventure..
A Hike led us to a pear tree, in the middle of a remote field, a misty rain fell on us and a nearby brook ran full. Kyle had his sights on a pear, I watched as he jumped as high as he could over and over again to reach it. The whole scene was surreal, seriously magical.

Maya and Mama reading about insects in our tent by the stream
Ofcourse there were s'mores and campfire cuddles <3

I hope you all are having a fun filled summer, I can't wait to see what you've been up to!
